Wayne from Lake Clifton is inducted onto the Wall Of Honour this week.
Wayne inherited two ponies when he purchased his property. Not knowing the first thing about horse care, he decided to rehome them and found them a place with what seemed like nice people. However one of the ponies just could not be caught and was clearly terrified (we have since discovered this pony was very badly abused and frightened by prior owners) so he could only rehome one.
After he noticed that the remaining pony was beginning to limp, he realised he just could not care for him properly as he couldn't catch him for the Vet so he contacted Second Chance to ask for help. This pony was surrendered to our care and not only that, Wayne also donated $150 to assist with the pony's ongoing care.
Well done Wayne for taking responsibility for your pony and making a real effort to help him - you've done what everyone else in this pony's life were too lazy and too uncaring to do. Yay you! _________________

not sure if Wayne has access to forum ... think we should acknowledge his compassion via letter.
wonderful to know there are people who realise when something's not right and attempt to do something to make it right ... |
