SC’s Belle is a striking mare, standing at approx 16.2hh and of solid build. She is a sound 16yo grey Thoroughbred mare and she is now ready for a new home.

Belle is a right brain introvert which means that she may appear to be very still and quiet but on the inside she lacks confidence. If Belle doesn’t trust you she will be aloof but when your relationship is strong she is great to approach, halter and lead.

Belle is fantastic to wash, groom, worm, needle, poke and prod etc. She is very good looking and has a very sweat gentle nature. She loves cuddles and pats. In fact, she will nudge for a cuddle and put her head on your shoulder.
Belle needs someone who is very gentle and patient. They need to be quiet and slow in their actions. They also need to be confident as Belle needs a good leader. She is not a beginner’s horse.

Belle is lovely to ride. She is soft and sensitive and has a lovely canter. She will move off a click of the tongue. You can ride her in a halter and bare back.

When Belle came to Second Chance she had floating issues, but she is over that now – so long as she is floated correctly. Belle’s new mum or dad will probably need a lesson in how to float Belle as a lot of her abuse she suffered was around floats and she needs a very gentle and respectful hand with floating.

Belle is very low maintenance with feed and day to day care. She loves her hay and hanging out. She does not need a lot of stimulation as she loves just being with her mates and munching on her hay. She will make a great paddock buddy or hack – particularly with her gorgeous looks and quiet nature. Vet check is welcomed and recommended.
