2008

Second Chance Horse Rescue Inc is now taking applications for our 2008 Equine Apprenticeship Program. This program a part of our growing educational service and we are proud to bring it to you.

SC’s Apprentices will work with our organisation's horses for 6 hours a week (more if they wish to) and in exchange will be 'paid' in thorough horse care education and hours can earn them places at clinics, courses and workshops that SC runs throughout the year. Practical horse handling will also be taught including the safe and correct handling of nervous horses, floating, lunging and more.

Apprentices will have unrivalled opportunities to learn first hand from some of the best horse-people WA has to offer and may also get the chance to learn from International trainers. All training and work is fully supervised and our supervisors not only have years of experience, they also have either National Police Clearances and/or Working With Children clearances.

Apprentices must be 12 years of age or older at last birthday and no prior horse experience is necessary. Teens and adults are also invited to apply.

Applications close on December 25th and those making it to the short-list will be notified and invited to an interview (along with parent or guardian if under 1 Cool

in the New Year.

Apprenticeships will start on January 19th, there are only 3 positions available for 2008.

Please note: Apprenticeships are not an official recognised qualification however we are insured to run this program and not only will Apprentices get amazing opportunities to learn but participation and completion will also look good on any Resume. SC will also provide a reference and Achievement Certificate at the end of the year.
