Laughing Hi Im just wondering about horses eyes? well this morning I noticed both the tb mare and stb gelding had a very faint haze around their eyes, it was that faint that I could hardly see it? with a faint ring all the way around, this went the whole full circle of their eyes? they are not off their food or anything, in fact are the same as always, they do flick their hay out of their buckets, maybe the hay has scratched their eyes? the shetland does not seen to have this, anyone come across this before? as I have looked on the internet, but Im not sure what Im looking for.
The gelding had tears coming out of his eyes, and some'goopy' stuff? I think It may be conjunktivitis but am not sure, and whats the best treatment if it is.

It is possible they may have picked up a grass seed or perhaps something else is irritating them. Your best bet is to contact your vet immediately and ask them over the phone what they think, describe it to them and see what they say. Vets will give advice over the phone and it is always better to be safe than sorry when it comes to horse care!

You might find something simple will clear it up like bathing the eye with a saline solution howver again - its best to be safe than sorry!
