My my hasnt Milo turned into the spunky little experienced show pony! He has certainly made me extremely proud over the past few weeks and this week starting on Thursday with him being an angel to bath in the horrible weather and continuing onto Saturday where the poor boy was mane chopped, plaited, glad wrapped and skinny hooded then clipped on his fetlocks and tail with a bit of a shaving here and there to neaten him up! .... must say he was excellently behaved for it all!

Sunday morning bright and early poor boy was dragged from his stable and put on the float for the ride to Muchea which he did brilliantly and didnt even feel/hear him on the back. Got there and once again he was a star being perfectly quiet and eating his food whilst he was hoof painted, make uped and more trimming occured (didnt even have a halter on for any of it!), he then was stripped of his warm rugs at about 8:45 whilst i got dressed and took him out for some quick warming up. Went into Best Presented but unforunately didnt place (was against some spectacular ponies) and he pooped on his hind socks of course right before we went in!

Once that was done we were out and washing his socks when Sylvia and Anna came up to see the spunky boy and wished me luck for my classes, Cathy made her way over not long after Smile We then had a actually not long of a wait for our next class which was Unregistered and i spent a little while running him around keeping both him and me warm and both us nearly tripping up when we hit a particularly boggy bit of sand! In Unreg Geld 3 yrs & under we got 1st and went in for Champion and lost out to the nicely matured older gelding but i was still proud of him as he ran out really well.

After our unreg classes there was only a quick 10 minute wait for our Open pony class which he went brilliantly in (was just after a big shower) and ran out spectacularly with a really really nice extended trot. Unfortunately we did all run out well and it came down to the 'nit picky' things *sigh* lol and we got placed Equal 3rd Very Happy and the judge just said that once he gets more muscle will be a winner pony Very HappyVery Happy hehe.

Here are a couple of pics of the pretty boy!

Next week we will be making our appearance at Darling Ranges Breed Show with his paddock buddy also going to be done up!

Well I spoke to the penciller for your class this morning, and she told me about the judge commenting on him needing more muscle. Looks like some light long-reining and lots of hand-walking and/or ponying for him then! LOL

You know, hill work if you have any hills handy and that sort of thing.

You guys look FABULOUS

Yes more and more work for him lol the poor boy wont know whats hit him! Have been lunging and ponying him but now hes good with his bridle (big thanks to my agistment owner for being able to help me out with that during this week where i had extra work hrs due to someone being off!) he'll get properly worked with the side reins and then i'll be able to start long reining and then when hes got the muscle we'll progress to saddle!

He was beautiful and extremely well behaved. While Cathy C, Sylvia & I huddled undercover with the rain coming in sideways, Milo was a complete angel for Sarah. We had stallions being stallions, other horses and ponies calling out and carrying on as twits but nothing perturbed Milo. We were so excited when he won one of his classes and got reserve. Keep up the good work, this is why we rescue, to prove that they are suitable for showing or any other task that the adopters require. Please keep us informed as to when he is showing. I loved the affro do!
