Just got back from an interesting trail ride. Myself and an aquaintance went out for a trail ride together, I took Lucky and she on her horse. Lucky was completely freaked out, I don't know if he's ever been on a trail ride before and was getting dangerous because he just wasn't listening so I took him back and swapped him for my own horse Levi. Mind you, the blokes hooting around on their trail bikes were NOT helping.
So we saddled up Levi, and tried again. Came across one biker and a couple of mates standing around so we stopped to ask where they were headed so we could take a different track. They explained they had just arrived and were going up to fetch their mate who was among the earlier riders, he'd had an accident and hurt himself but they weren't sure how bad.
So seeing as I have done first aid I told him to lead the way, he took off and good ol' Levi was pounding along right behind the bike thoroughly enjoying the chase. We get right up the hill and found the other 3 riders, one looking pretty miserable. Turns out he'd come off and damaged his knee and couldn't put any weight on it at all.
"Righto, up on the horse then." says I and he looks like I've just asked him to run a marathon. One of his mates wasn't going to help at first, he was too worried about Levi doing something I think but he soon realised that 63kilo me was NOT about to lift his 80kilo mate up onto Levi with a bung knee all on my wincy. So they got him on, Levi the trooper just stood like a rock and then walked that poor guy all the way back down to his mates car at the road.
He was really grateful and obviously really suprised to be riding a horse back down the hill! LOL Off to the ER with him, I don't think it was broken but he's probably damaged a ligament or something by the looks of things.
