One of our own this week. A very special mention to Sylvia Hurlbatt and her daughter Alice for the most amazing job of rehabilitating SC's Duchess and preparing her for her new home!
They took Duch from this:
Severed artery, numerous cuts, swollen legs, immobile bowed knee, unable to pick up hooves for cleaning/trimming, hooves crumbling, underweight, old injury from being hit by a car.
To this:
Full range of movement at walk, trot and canter, able to lift all 4 feet without trouble, a healthy weight and ready for rehoming.
Your dedication, time invested and exemplary care do you credit. Well done and congratulations for doing such a great job!! _________________

I agree with Jessie, I have spent some time with Sylvia and her family and they dedicate their lives to their horses, all have been rescues in a way. To watch horses who were in Duch's condition and worse canter up the hill and know that for the rest of their lives they will be loved and cared for is amazing.
Congratulations to all of you. |

| I add my congratulations - Sylvia and her family have a quiet, assertive manner which inspires confidence in the horses and people who come into contact with them. Thanks for all that you do! |
